eBunda was officiated in BAG Networks on 19 February 2010 as part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in line with women initiatives in the Human Capital and Diversity Agenda as well as fulfilling the Nation’s Vision 2035. eBunda was initially created as a result of feedback received from an informal focus group held on 23 October 2009 as a follow up session to the Women in Business Forum organized annually by Asia Inc Forum.
The original intent of the establishment of eBunda was to enable women in Brunei to be trained while taking a career break in order to take care of their children and the elderly. Based on the feedback received during the focus groups organized by BAG Networks, the establishment of eBunda was to fulfill the following mission:
- To focus on the development of female leaders, designing outcomes where women can contribute to the progression of Brunei.
- To promote continuous learning by providing easily accessible and readily available online learning which supports the needs of the women in Brunei.
- To provide a platform for women in Brunei to connect and collaborate through a supportive network.
In support of this, a portal was developed that acts as a platform in which information can be shared and to create awareness on issues which are important to women such as health, environment, business and finance, career, education, and affirmative action in influencing a positive contribution to Brunei.
As part of the services provided, the portal will be an avenue where women can develop themselves through online learning and also use the portal as a platform to build a supportive and collaborative network amongst women.
Ultimately, it is hoped through eBunda and its services that it will lead to future collaboration, the continuous development of women and the sustainable growth and progression of Brunei Darussalam.
